Application Guidelines
   Manish Chalana
2003 Fellow
Cultural Landscape Management

Manish took a survey of the cultural landscapes both within the park and the gateway towns. He conducted research on the history of the landscapes and their management at the park archives while focusing on a sample of cultural landscapes to investigate more deeply. These ranged from those that have survived relatively intact to those that have been almost completely lost, in order to evaluate potential approaches to their landscape management. Chalana’s study contributes to the park’s general understanding of cultural landscape preservation and interpretation in an environment like Rocky where the activities that shaped those landscapes are no longer being practiced.
